Elsa Wiemerslage is a Kindergarten student at Zahnow Elementary School in Waterloo, IL. On October 29, 2015, Elsa was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a rare form of pediatric cancer.

She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and must undergo a bone marrow transplant.

 

Elsa’s father, Kevin, is an EMT for Monroe County, O’Fallon-Shiloh EMS and is a firefighter for the Berkley Fire Department. Kevin was a firefighter for the Fairview Heights Fire Department for 9 years.

 

Her mother, Adrienne, is a special education teacher at High Mount School in Swansea.
